After Graduation: Marketing Coordinator for No7 Brand at Boots Retail USA, Inc.
Since graduating from Duke in 2018, I worked for L'Oreal Paris as a Junior Marketing Associate on the L'Oreal Paris skincare brand for 6 months. I then decided to leave L'Oreal in pursuit of another opportunity at the Walgreens Boots Alliance company. For the past 6 months, I have been working for WBA under the Global Brands branch of the company on the marketing team for No7 a skincare and cosmetics brand sold at Walgreens, Target and Ulta. In my role, I support day-to-day functions of the marketing team as well as work on new product launches and manage campaigns across digital and in store platforms.
My advice for students in the MMS program is to take advantage of the capstone class. The skills learned from the semester long project where we created a launch proposal for an on-campus business is extremely useful in real-world marketing jobs. I recommend that MMS students see these projects as more than a class project, but rather as a first opportunity to start building your strategic marketing expertise and even as something to add to your portfolio of work.
