The MMS certificate complements Duke's liberal arts education in that it offers exposure to finance and business for students interested in those professional fields. My MMS studies helped confirm my interest in finance and helped prepare me for my first job out of Duke in investment banking.
For a well-rounded academic experience, I recommend taking a blend of "practical" courses (e.g., Financial Accounting) and others you simply find interesting (e.g., History of Art Markets).
